Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

In response to the week’s theme of Time, I made a short animation that shows a fish swimming in a suspended water droplet, using traditional 2d animation techniques. By showing the fish transitioning from a fish into a tadpole I was able to represent time going backwards, juxtaposed with the 'time standing still’ aspect of the water droplet. I wanted to highlight multiple different aspects of time in one short moment. Similar themes are present in a scene in Antz the movie, directed by Eric Darnell and Tim Johnson (Darnell & Johnson 1998) when an ant gets stuck inside a water droplet.
