Stop Motion  - turn sound on.

“In response to the week’s theme of found objects, I made a short animation that depicts a lipstick ‘coming to life'.  By using an old lipstick tube and plasticine I was able to create a new narrative / use for the found object. I wanted to create a playful video that highlighted the mundanity and fun of makeup. I chose the colour red as throughout history women have been known to wear red lipstick during difficult periods (such as wartime) to exude a sense of confidence and empowerment.  Similar themes are present in the artwork Crying Girl by Roy Lichtenstein in 1964, where Lichtenstein sheds light on the oppression of women throughout this period. (Whiting 2009).”
