Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

This week's studio progress post, I continued my process in making the very first scene of the animation: The stance between two adventurers. I call it scene 0.

Besides scene 0, I reworked on Scene 1 and 2 where the shield is clashing and Samurai carries Wizard after beating him.

The smoke

The smoke is an effect that I made for the scene to create a "wind" effect that is gusting out from the wizard's hand as he tries to push back samurai. I wanted to create the wind looking so strong that it could push someone back. I use a smoke generator from blender and changing its colour to a lighter colour.

The technicality of the smoke effect in Blender is basically a fluid generator that is "blurred" so much that it became clouds. As well as the weight is lightened so much, it becomes air.

The Shield's particle

There was already a particle effect to create some kind of a "spark" before. I reworked the particles to emit more particles. But instead of creating a spark-like feature, I gather around the particles around the shield. I realise that it would be better for it this way to look more "magical" for the shield.
