Peder B. Helland creates a quiet atmosphere by creating relaxing piano music and dynamic photo albums. Albums have always changed, but they don't have the feeling of movement, because change just work on a special environment.

Method

There are many single environmental factors that can be controlled, such as time, gravity, sunlight, and wind……These can help create a quiet environment. But I want to think more about how to express this quietness based on the changes of a single environmental element, without the help of music, there is no other way. Perhaps more real, closer to real life, will make quiet more obvious. I tried to construct a three-dimensional quiet world on the palm and tried to change the three elements to compare their effects.

Response

The first part I want to change is time. The reason for choosing this scene is that whenever there is such an accident, people will always fall into silence for a period of time (maybe unacceptable, or don’t know what to do). The time is like pressing a pause or slowing down button, and the silence at this time will appear to be long. In the second scene, there are only houses and trees, no creatures, no wind, only the sun is changing the angle silently. This feeling of loneliness undoubtedly prolongs the quiet atmosphere and has a feeling that a million years had pass away.

Reflection

The final result did not fulfill my original thoughts, which made its playability disappear, I hope it can be held in the palm of your hand, carefully observed, sinking into this stillness. I hope to have more attempts at AR because it adds more playability and increases the collision between virtual and reality.

In the third part, it is my attempt to change gravity. Obviously this is not a successful attempt, because the end point of gravity is still the collision between objects. The collision is fierce, it will break the quiet atmosphere, and it is more suitable to destroy than to create it.
