Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

I made three mind maps, the concept of the maps are solitude, time, and perspectives. I know them all big concepts, but I picked a certain angle to demonstrate them.

All these three ideas all come from a book I read during break, It's called One hundred years of solitude. I can relate to the lonely feelings the book expresses, especially during this special period we been through.

The first map is about solitude. We all know solitude or loneliness is a universal feeling. I want to illustrate an animation that could interpret circumstances when people feel lonely. I summarized some circumstance when I finished the book, such as, couldn't get a response from love, couldn't understand, or be forgotten. I think this idea was used in a famous animation called Coco. I'll conduct a survey about what circumstance people feel lonely the most. Then chose those I could relate the most to demonstrate.

The second one is about time. In terms of time, I want to explore growing and aging, I haven't thought it through. but the initial idea is about the relationship between time and memories. When we are growing how memories are sharp and clear when we start aging, the memories are fade out and we eventually forgot who we are. It's could relate to Alzheimer, and it also can be related to the feeling of solitude.

The third one is about perspective, what is reality, what is an illusion. We get different answers when we look at different angles. In semester I made a short video prototype about in different perspective shows a different story, this idea has lots of potentials, I may keep exploring it and in this semester I want to do an installation art to express this idea.

Overall, I like the first idea the most. I explored transitions in semester 1 and made a loop animation about isolation. I think the previous experiences will help me to present solitude feelings.I week 2, I will design my survey questions so that I could get more circumstances of feeling solitude from peers.
