Fundamental
Fundamental is an award-winning animation produced by Taiwan animator Shih-Chieh Chiu.
This is an animation about the surrealist style that explores faith, religion, and the spiritual world of young people. The animation adopts black and white to form art, and the overall style is full of dark cultism.
In the animation, the animator uses a lot of metaphors. These pictures have inspired me a lot. In addition, Chiu's painting style is very unified, and the use of black, white and grey to achieve a different atmosphere. His style is not a beautifully refined animation, but this simple way of using lines and colour blocks makes the viewer very observable.
It happened that I saw Chiu posted an online course about his animation process and the use of toonboom. So, this week I also started following him to learn these animation production processes. This course can help me understand the creative process of animation, and help me sort out the production process in folio2. This series of learning can help me consolidate the foundation of 2D animation, and then a series of work can make my work more complete and convincing.
