つみきのいえ/The House of Small Cubes

つみきのいえ was directed by Kunio Katou in 2008 and won the Oscar prize in 2009. 

The short animation film mainly tells the story of an old man determined to dive into an old house that has been covered by the sea in order to retrieve his beloved pipe and recalls his memory.

Lots of memories were carefully packed into the box, and the barriers were high, a slightly sad mood generated here. As the years passed, they no longer touched. Until one day comes, like an opportunity for a pipe, a memory blowout.

This animation uses a lot of items to link the present and past life.It is very helpful for my folio2's work. Also，Whenever warm memories strike, the color of the picture becomes warm. Compared with reality, the cool colors reflected in the sea water are strong.In addition, the sound effects of this animation are very informative.
