Father and Daughter
‘Father and Daughter’ is an awarded short film about love and passage of time directed by M. Dudok de Wit in 2001.I am very grateful to Kate for sharing this ‘Father and daughter’ with me. It’s really an impressive animation which can help me build my animatic.
This work mainly describes a story of affection and memories. It narrates beautiful memories of childhood and father, like poetry. Subsequently, the father left, the daughter waited alone until she was old, and met her father next to her childhood boat.
This work uses light and shadow to build emotion, and the slow lens language is like creating an art piece. Also，bicycle ringtones and rolling wheels, childhood memories go away with piano sounds, and the use of these sound effects has inspired me a lot.
