Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

A small task completed in the first class of studio one. We were asked to interview a partner and narrow down what they wanted to achieve in terms of their skills.

In order to help my partner with her frame by frame animation skills I created a crude computer (inspired by the robot Karen from Spongebob Squarepants)

What did I learn?

In this task I learnt to ask questions and write down whatever ideas came to mind. This task was all about getting used to creating something from nothing in a very short span of time and I think it gave me a good insight into how important it is to practice creating (even if it looks terrible).

What were the problems?

I do not think I utilised the materials we were given to create our prototype. I didn't really have a plan when I started to create the "computer" and instead relied on existing imagery to come up with a basis for my creation. As a result I feel I should've used more of my own imagination to create my prototype.

What would I change?

Were I to do this task again I would put more effort into the creation of my prototype. As I went with the first idea that came into my head, I feel like I didn't do enough to come up with an original piece of work. Because of this I'm not that happy with how my creation turned out, and feel it represents my lack of organisation.
