Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity
Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

I’ve met with both Matt and Chris to hone my research even further from last week. To start off, we did an Abstract exercise which helped me tremendously. It allowed me to focus on finding what my research will do, the purpose of it and what it plans to solve and the methodology I will use.

I explained my project to Chris and he suggested that I make it a bit more personal, but still explore an answer to a question that may interests other 2D animators.

My original idea coming into week 2 was me wanting to tackle whether or not a 2D animator’s artistic style that they’ve developed was a derivative of the animation software and the tool they used. Each software is their own repository tool that offers their own limitations and privileges. I wanted to test this theory out by creating a control variable animation and applying that animation to 3 separate contemporary 2D animation softwares and observing what differs. I wanted this project to target animators still in their infancy, where the product of their animation still heavily relies on the tools that are provided by the software. I will still need to flesh out this idea and remove/add details to make it more impactful.
