RATIONALE
My inquiry of this semester is Whats the principle of game feel and how to implement theories to platform games?

CONTEXT
Based on the theories Game Feel written by Steve Swink, which provides clear directions to research. I chose 2 basic elements.
Control:
Shovel Knight / Celeste
These games have brilliant real-time control feedback and designed interesting verbs for characters.
Polish:
Celeste / Just shape & beats / Flat Hero
The animation\VFX and details of these games gave a boost to the experience of gameplay and formed a great game feel from the polish aspect.

METHOD
I'm planning to develop the project in the iteration like research-work-test loops.

When exploring in every iteration loop, the game mentioned in CONTEXT will be a good example to extract the theory and principle. I will find out what formed the experience of these great works and how did the designs contribute to it.

The work will start from the Folio project last semester. I'm planning to modify it as a single-player mode, adding more verbs and mechanisms to the project.

For the playtesting, I intended to update in every iteration to get feedbacks, combined with the context research results for the next iteration.

OUTCOMES
For this semester, the project will be a single-player platformer prototype, with a fully developed character to play in the no-task playroom and some levels which can be preproduction of the full project.
