Recompile is a 3D game currently in development which follows a semi-sapient "program" attempting to escape their own deletion in a virtual world through combat, platforming, and exploration. The game's visuals style features a heavy use of particles and , including the protaganist character who is composed of glitchy red blocks, who is able to interact with a dynamic world which responds to player interaction (eg. shockwaves during combat sending large ripples through the terrain). The developer is building the game in Unity and regularly posts about their process, including the use of shaders, VFX, lighting, and particle effects.
