APD Week 1: Play and Observation

Play and Observation

Method:

Self portrait as observation. We observe so many things and it can't be observed in many ways. I took my self portrait observation as comparision with other artist works. I will use artists such as Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol and their styles to observe different ways of creating art with my self portrait. I will use photoshop to create the pop arts and make it similar as styles of different artist works.

Context:

Mariyn Monroe and Andy Warhol self portrait pop art. These are my references as I started because these artists used pop art as a way to express different style of portraits.

Response:

I used photoshop to experiment and observe different styles. I like my response since as I tried other artists style I was able to observe different styles for self portrait that allows a specific color scheme. I observed how the color differs from the background, head and torso to produce the same kind of piece. I observed different art styles and methods to create it.

Reflection:

I think this is related to play as I used other styles created by artists and experimented on creating something similar. I observed other artist style of work and it's a very popular pop art. It's playful as everyone can create this style and use their own self-portrait by observing popular pop art styles.
