RATIONALE
For Studio 2, I have an intention to make a game that I (and everybody) else can enjoy. I have always wondered how I can make negative emotion enjoyable through gaming. And that is the question I want to explore in this project. The idea of a puzzle-adventure top-down game starting to appear. The theme is going to be about a character trying not to get killed by herself in her dream.
CONTEXT
Creaks by Amanita Design (on Apple Arcade)
Creaks is my primary inspiration for this project. I love everything about the game, from the art style to the world building. The way the creators build up the world in the game make you feel like you are a part of it. There are also enemies that the main character need to hide from by pushing objects or turn/off on buttons. I love the moments when I examine the surrounding world of the character, in order to come up with the right way to advance forward.
METHODS
Week 1 - 5
Stage 1: gameplay design
Stage 2: map design
Stage 3: world and character design (pen, paper, fineliner, crayon, color pencil, scanned and edited in Photoshop).
Stage 4: animation
Stage 5: set up in Unity
Week 6 - 12
Stage 6: deal with the code
OUTCOMES
The final submission is going to be a puzzle-adventure game run on browser.
I hope that my game will “wow” people from artstyle to gameplay
