Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

Briefly discusses your choice of opposites/binaries in relation to your project.

Shadow/Light - I chose this theme because it related to my IOL project the most.

What route you chose A or B? and why?

Option B because my IOL project is an AR work and it has potential to develop into an interactive piece. It will make my work more interesting.

Describe your thinking behind your approach to the experiments you conducted

Before I was thinking about create an animation related to shadow and light then think about the mechanic that can switch between this two. Light switch came into my mind. I can make it look evil when turn the switch off and it will look normal when the light is on. However, it wouldn't fall into metamorphosis theme so I think there should be one mechanic to reveal the process of metamorphosis. Sometimes, when you turn on the light it would flash for awhile before it light steadily and this gave me an idea of keep switching on and off the reveal more evil appearance.

Reflect on the outcome pieces.

I'm pretty proud on my first succesful frame-by-frame animation and I think it will be very interesting and it gave me an idea to develop more interactive piece rather than just an AR work.

Is there any way your exercise might feed into your larger studio project or inspire an aspect of it?

This work I made for this exercise gave me a very cool idea of how would user interactive with AR piece. Before I was thinking that when user touch one object and another thing happen but never think about repeatly touch to active something more.
