This week's theme is quite interesting I think. It is a bold concept in many ways and its characterize could suit animation quite well. There is a question that comes up to my mind, which part of my animatic could exam this idea since my poem may not have such strong contrast.
I think Subverting assumptions is more in line with emotion. In this case, I tried to modify a part of the petals transition. Initially, I just want to make those petals into abstract shapes. To exam the theme, I decided to make this part more vivid and meaningful.
Usually, poetry needs to be graceful, and petals are objects with female views. I put Iris and women’s perspectives together and thought that this transition could be designed as a petal transition into butterflies.
Result and discussion:I made a short animation by Toonboom. It achieves abstraction and fantasy from a female perspective. Because it is a frame-by-frame drawing, the overall effect is still somewhat rough. But I will apply this test to the studio project and refine it.
