WEEK 02 - In class task

Option A:

Aim:

  1. Try to create a 3d square in AE(actually it’s a 2.5D)
  2. Test the parent binding. The hierarchy.
  3. Through the key frame adjustment, let the box move

Method:

After Effects,In terms of AIM 01, Click the 3D Layer button and change the Camera to custom View 1. So I can make a 3D model(seems like 3D model).

For AIM 02, I was trying to use the parent button to connect different sides of the square. Then made a null object for the parent. I can connect different sides and set key frame just for one file rather than set 6 sides of key frames. This could reduced amount of works. This is the main purpose of this step.

For AIM 03 , I try to adjust the position of the key frame. So that make the movement of the box more natural. This step I have not found any efficient method which I was only  modifying the box to move more natural again and again

Result:

As the final result shows, I think I'm satisfied with the final look. You can see the change of the square, the jumping and the rolling-over, and it's still not quite natural, but I'm trying to modify it, For the result, I understand a little bit of the hierarchy and parent function. With the 3D view of camera. The way of AE is more diversified.

Discussion:

In terms of the testing hierarchy, parent function , that could save a lot of time if the parent function works well and arranged. For change the Camera view, it could have more ways to use AE to work with.

This seems to be a basic practice. But I think it will be useful for further works and give me a other side way to make a project. In the same way, there have many software can do the 3D animation and more efficient than AE. But for the special effects of 3d animation, it is sometimes necessary to build models in AE to make more effects. After all, AE is a very useful software for making animation effects. So this practice is also very necessary to me.
