EXERCISE I: Choose one adjective that names/hints at the mood of your project and communicate it through key-framing THE POSITION VALUE OF ONE POLYGON.

EXERCISE II: Choose the same one adjective that names the mood of your project and communicate it through key-framing ANY TRANSFORMATION VALUE OF ONE POLYGON.

EXERCISE III: Choose the same one adjective that names the mood of your project and communicate it through key-framing ANY TRANSFORMATION VALUE OF ANY NUMBER OF POLYGONS

EXERCISE IV  : Choose the same one adjective that names the mood of your project and communicate it through key-framing ANY TRANSFORMATION VALUE OF ANY LINES OR ABSTRACT ORGANIC SHAPES

NOTE: The sequential order of the exercises in the video is 1, 4, 3,2. (accidental). The Adjective in use is "Restlessness."

REFLECTION: This is my first time to use Toon Boom/Harmony, and I really found the application relatively easier to use than I expected. I still have a long way to go if I wanted to be effective in using it as a tool for creative expression for movement. Thanks to Nick's introduction, as well as Ben's guidance, I had a more comfortable experience in starting to use it. I definitely prefer to use Toon Boom/ Harmony than TV paint, as it is more flexible, and the idea of node-based animation intrigues me. I'm hoping to incorporate Toon Boom in my work process when I need its flexibility, as well as combine its potential with After Effects or Cinema 4D, two programs which I'm more familiar with.

I found that the limiting parameters in the exercise helped me focus on the task, without having to know much about the technicals of the tool I'm using. Rules such as using only one transformation value, simply black and white, and the use of basic geometric shapes. I used "Restlessness" as my adjective, to see how I can balance sudden and abrupt movement between calm and stillness in each composition. The exercise and the lecture that came before have ideas and concepts that I will definitely look back on as I pursue iterations in my studio project on Interactive Projection-Mapping, as well as further themes in our Illusion of Life Class.
