Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

-What was the main intention/focus of this weeks practice for you?

For this week's IOL exercise, I will continue the dance animation test about different emotions. I will practice and test the influency of this animation over and over again.

-Where there any specific technical/narrative/visual/movement or design problems guiding your practice?

This action was a more complex animation in my tests, which meant that it would take more time to fix the incoherent animation. I tried to speed up the animation, but if the speed is adjusted, it will affect the emotion represented by this segment. I realized that the slow speed is the core of this segment. I was told that the problem was still on the keyframe of the test, so I added the keyframe on the action connection.

--How did you go about your making endeavour relating to this intention?

After several times of debugging the testing speed of this fragment, I found that it was not feasible. This process wasted my progress in project research. I realized that the fundamental problem was that I wanted to be lazy. So much so that it made me rethink from the beginning of making this clip, which action was missing the keyframe, and redraw it.

--How successful were you with this practice? How do you know?

I'm still not satisfied with the result, no matter how much I fix it, it looks a little stuck, but I have to admit that this is the result of many changes I've made. This result is also confirmed through consultation with Nick.

-Have you come across any new related works that inform your larger IOL project for the semester?

Not really.

--What do you need to iterate further or reiterate in terms of your past practice in coming weeks?

I think it should be emphasized repeatedly that whether the audience can intuitively feel the emotions expressed by watching the animation test. In addition, the fluency and beauty of the animation are also important parts to ensure the emotion.

-Describe one insight you have had about your practice this week?

I regret not familiarizing myself with more animation software, which will make me more flexible in the process of animation production.
