WEEK 2
AIM:
to apply notes from my meeting with Nick,
to do animation tests for my S3 project that fit the definition of loops,
to explore how my character will move,
to explore new animation techniques and put my focus on different things,
to start developing the emotional tone of the movement in my film
METHOD:
Short, quick unplanned animations, focusing on shapes and weights from my existing designs.
made on my ipad
to help me get a sense of how different things might move and what types of shapes and weights I might experiment with in future.
RESULT:
Video linked
REFLECTION:
I learned a few interesting things about how to weight the legs in a jump that will help with future practice. I stuck to richard williams notes and it worked. It was basically accidental but the way the astronauts legs bounce back from being launched downward and start to move upward, because they have a drifting weight of their own, looks really good and will likely make it into the final film
I did my first non terrible smear animation and have a better sense of how to do it now. I needed a lot more follow through weight during stopping for it to make sense.
I tried and kinda failed to do my first rotating cube.
