Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

In response to wk9 activity theme of character/action-event/environment, I made a cycle of influence, action and reaction between a character, its actions and its environment.

I chose the chameleon lizard as a character with its ability to camouflage itself to adapt perfectly to different environment by changing its colour and then follow up with a secondary action. By being unnoticed it is able  to capture food. Had it been detected by its potential prey, the chance of lunch would have been diminished for the lizard.

The argument demonstrated is that for survival of a species, cooperation and adaption to its environment is essential.

Adaption to and interaction with environment has also been created by Projection Mapping artists. In order for their work communicate meaning the art must be manipulated to accommodate the environment and the shape of the environment influences the actions of the artist Mr Beam.

Inspired by the principle that Michael Naimark used, the very first projection mapping work of Mr.Beam arose: our starting project ‘Living Room’. In ‘Living Room’, we created an ever-changing interior design for an all-white Ikea furnished room.
