For this week respond, I’m creating a boss character that controls time. The concept to the character is the god of time – Chronos in Greek Mythology. The character will have 3 stages, she will be at a child state in the beginning. Throughout the battle every time she uses a time control power she starts to age and becomes older and more feminine. Since controlling time is a very over powered ability, I always felt that it is funny how animation or game characters were able to defeat bosses with such power. And so it made me to consider more about the back story of this character. I created her even though she’s title to god of time – Chronos, she’s actually a descendant of Chronos and she couldn’t control her powers fully. As said, in term of gameplay as a boss fight. You actually could not directly damage her, in order to defeat her, players will have to force her to do a time control technique. Every time she does a time control, it will cause her to damage (of course, players will have to work away around with the time control attack too otherwise you’ll get damage), by the end of the fight she’ll turn into an old lady.

In terms of the concept design my pitch about time were elegant and delicate, precious and pitiless. It came to me the character as a golden bird in style. And so through the metaphor when she turns from child to adult, there are elements of bird in her clothing and attributes.
