Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

In response to this week’s theme of “Object Oriented Ontology”, I made a short animation about a glass of water and a cigarettes box inside a house, where there is a ceiling leak affecting both of them, using Cinema 4D with different 3D animation and modeling techniques. By showing the perspective of both objects without the intervention or explicit existence of a human being on the scene, I wanted to demonstrate how an external element can modify each object in different ways depending on what material it is made of, what shape it has, what its essence is, among others. The glass is made of crystal, which does not rust and thanks to its shape and position, accumulates water; instead the cigarette box is made of an oxidizable material and due to the position it is in and its essence itself, it reflects a different state, such as deterioration and water repellency. Similar work has been produced by Webiocosm, whose video called “Fruit and Vegetable Decomposition, Time-lapse” shows how fruits and vegetables decompose in a different rate depending on their composition (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0En-_BVbGc). The experiment was conducted by a human but a similar behaviour should be observed in the nature.
