Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

In response to the week’s theme of “Place”, I created a small animation located on another planet, where it is focused on showing the change of setting between the afternoon and the night, using Cinema 4D with different 3D animation and modeling techniques. By using modeling tools such as Displacer, I wanted to show how starting from the tool towards the context and not in the opposite direction, can help in the creation of a unique and creative setting where two or more ideas whose real relationship is not close, can coexist. Furthermore, I also wanted to play with perspective, creating a sensation that could be non-existent in our real context and contributing to the perception of a not ordinary world or context. Similar works have been produced by the video game development company From Software and its Dark Souls saga, despite having a defined context and inspired by the Middle Ages, the characters that inhabit those places are part of a plot composed by elements of magic and fantasy. In addition to this, they play with the sizes and shapes, generating in the player amounts of feelings that range from curiosity to uncertainty and fear; when for example you face opponents that triple your size, or you see a distant, dazzling and reachable area.
