Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

This is the post for Week 2 assignment for CPS. Theme for today was 'Tinkering'

I noticed I hadn't used the annotation guidlines for this week's upload for some reason. Reuploading with the correct annotation guidelines.

In response to the theme of this week’s theme of Tinkering, I made a couple of drawings using rudimentary shapes, lines and perspective using dry pastel, colour pencils and pencil.

By doing so, I tried to experiment with iterations of simple shapes and lines to come up with character design to exercise my brain to become more comfortable with that concept. In the spirit of tinkering, I tried to use some dry pastels that had been lying around for a couple of years. Not being very happy with the process, I retried drawing it with some colour pencils which were lying around. Also tried to use some lines to implement better perspective for the drawing.

I took inspiration from work produced by Mitch Leeuwe, whose work explores this theme a lot about iteration and experimentation when he creates characters, animals, or architecture. His outlook towards character creation is iterative and encourages tinkering with different ideas and concepts. His instructional videos are really helpful and insightful for someone like me getting back into drawing after several years as well.
