Theme: Tinkering

The file is too big that I cant just upload it, so I uploaded it to my google drive.

In response to the theme of Tinkering, I made a simple 3D relaxing game using Unity (Version: 2019.2.0f1), which you can generate buildings on the earth that won't stop growing.

By iterating this game I showed that how the human activities influence the earth.

Similar game: Mountain, explores the theme of how human producing waste influence the earth(in my opinion)

First thing come into me mind when I started tinkering is Gravity, so I decided to create a earth with gravity. I didn't use the gravity provided by Unity's physics engine because it has only one direction but I want gravity point into the center of the earth which is more realisitc.

Then I thought the earth is too lonely, I need something on it, like building. But building doesn't move, can not shows there is gravity, so I decided to make the building falling onto ground.

At that time, I remebered I saw an animation movie called Blame!, it tells a story that in far future, people use giant building machines to automatically build buildings, but one day they lost control, then the machines start endless building, nearly used off all the material on earth. I thought the idea of endless growind building is very cool so I decide to add it here. I made cube buildings and made them growing forever.

After that, I changed the speed of growing, added shapes of buildings, made some buildings growing horizontally or even both horizontally and vertically.

I thought it's hard to observing those growing buildings so I added camera control methods.

I found out that the rotating of the earth will made the observation harder so I added a On/Off mechanis to the earth's rotation.

I recorded Most of those steps of tinkering.
