Theme: Observational Practicecs
Method: Observed an area for an exceptionally long time, taking note of the shapes that make it up. Then, do sketches of the area from memory with varying levels of abstractness.

Response:
In this case, the subject was a flight of escalators by the Melbourne Central Gloria Jean’s. The early morning light shone through the windows in such a way that caused rectangular and triangular shapes to be cast on the stairs in an interesting, rotating pattern.
Felt like the paper sketch didn't quite do it justice, so I did a quick animation.
