How characters are SHAPED by the world they inhabit. - What happens to them, how does it affect them?

Context:

In relation to my major studio project, where I am designing and making a videogame for the visually impaired, I utilized this class project to further brainstorm some of the main characters. These characters were the player character, 'Child', and a Non Player Character, 'Grandma'.

Method:

First point of attack in this exercise, I saught to discover who they are on the 'surface', what the player's first impression or interaction with them may be from an audio perpective. Much Like a mindmap, I drew up a diagram of 'Child' to determin what some of those pieces of audio and foley may be. (Please see cps-Character.jpg)

Next was to determin WHO they were at the three basic levels of depth; shallow, medium and deep. This I did for both 'Child' and 'Grandma', where I broke down from the 'cognitive visual-audio' perception of the character's appearances, to their individual behaviors, motivations, roles for within the game and the potential abilities and limitations each possess.  (Please see cps-Character2.jpg and cps-Character3.jpg)

Response:

My response is the three uploaded scanned images of my brainstorming, which I have described above in context and Method.
