Theme

Stillness. How do things end?

Method

I animated a picture of two skyscrapers.

Context

The idea of stillness has a strong connection to my work as I animate pictures to subtly show the happenings without any major movements. I was reminded of the website animation I saw for the game Firewatch which was an interesting blend of something being still and yet managing to show movement.

Another example that came to mind was a projection mapping project I saw long back by the creators. It reminds me of how much can be show on 2 screens barely moving.

Response

I animated a picture of two skyscrapers with clouds moving in the background showing that even in the calm and stiff scene, there can be motion. Even in the stillness, there is a lot happening.

The idea of how do things end is subjective in my opinion. It was a questionable interpretation that took a while to seep into my brain. Through the exercises in the CPS class, I have gained the eye to find something in everything that I see. So to me, things would end when one would stop looking. That to me is how things end.
