Theme: Play and Force

Method: Using Unity to create a game that uses gyroscope control the direction and the strength of the wind in the wind zone. And I explored the technique of spawning game object in the objects pool.

When I was looking for tutorials with keywords ‘randomly spawn game objects’ for my studio 2 folio, I found the scene in the object pooling tutorial can be combined with the tutorial of creating wind zone together, and create a simple interactive game with the gyroscope as a controller.

Response: I created a wind zone (by coding not from the practical system) as an internal force in the scene, and gyroscope as the external force as a controller and input. This simple interactive game is about using gyroscope as an input force, to affect the strength and direction of the wind which is the output force to blow away the spawning cubes. The point of using the technique of spawning cubes from the objects pool is that it can be used to increase the game performance.

Reflective: It was a very good opportunity to learn the object pool spawning techniques for my Studio 2 project, and the method of creating and customising my own wind zone by coding and adding an addition controller to the wind effect. Then I thought that I could use gyroscope since I tried it before, and the way of physically rotating the phone to control could make plays feel more engaging and a better connection. This whole prototype might be able to use in further studies and studio project.
