Context:

CAT GAMES - Catching Mice! Entertainment Video for Cats to Watch.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW-KIjHjjHM

What if my audience is not a human? I used to play this video to entertained my cat, and I had this question came up in my mind.

Method: I made a simple game with Unity which is using the mouse to move the fish to eat the worm to earn score. My cat was my audience :)

Response:

We consider that the audience is most likely a human, but what if I play a game and my cat will be the audience and interact with the game? It seems hard to establish a connection between animals(pets) and video games since they are not interested in games and even they are, they can not hold a controller. But I found my cat sometimes interested in what I am doing when I'm playing games in front of the PC, and he will sit beside and look at the monitor for a while. And sometimes he's eyes chase the cursor on the screen and tries to catch it with his paw. I know that cats interested in moving objects, so maybe I can make something that both my cat and I interested and interact with. And here is the game, a simple game that is controlling the fish to eat worms and earn scores. For me, the fun was earning more scores but for my cat, it was watching the fish and the cursor moving around on the screen. And it worked well, my cat tried to catch them with his paw. It would have more possibilities if I have a touch screen or iPad to implement and test with.

Reflective:

I had the idea but it was hard to make it work, the game itself wasn't hard to make but my cat probably won't be interested in my game. So I used a blue colour which feline can see better that might be able to catch their eyes because they are colour blind.
