Sound as force. When people making sound as input, it will create a creature in the game as an output. The creatures are super cute with simple design and move in a playful way.

‘Ovie Smarterware: the world’s first smart food storage system that will revolutionize your fridge.’ https://ovie.life/

In order to prevent food waste, the sensor will detect the freshness of food and notice people whether it is expired/rotten or not. People do not have to look at their fridge and know the status of their food.

Method

Come up with creatures in food form.

Create animation of food creature moving in TV Paint.

Response

After having a chat with Margaret, she suggests me to have smell as force. I thought it is a wonderful idea. When detect a smell of food, there will be a creature base on the shape or form of it being generated. I looked up for the device for detecting smell but is would be hard to get and too expensive. I remember a technology that can sense the freshness status of the food and have an idea: what if when people put food in the container, the sensor will sense it, then in the app, the creature will show up. As the food is getting expired, the creature will have wounds on their face (mold appears) and hope people will eat them soon.

Reflection

I really love doing the animation when it consists of food. I had fun imagine how the food creature will move base on the shape. The dumpling is like squid swimming, the strawberry on the cake can jumping and the bone of the chicken drumstick could be the legs. I feel like I should not add hands to the drumstick as other food creature do not have hands and keep their original form.
