CONTEXT

I was inspired by a lot of time-jumps concept in pop culture such as Star Wars and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

Both franchise uses the concept of jumping into hyperspeed, so fast that you manipulated time to get into a different dimension or a different galaxy.

METHOD

I wanted to create a similar feeling of going through a void or a worm hole.

Using Blender, I made the void from scratch by using a torus mesh and I implement the "Screw" modifier to twist the torus even more to look a bit more
abstract and spiraling.

After the Screw modifier, I used the Wireframe modifier so it wont look too solid.

The final modifier was the Array modifier. In order to create a "hallway of spiral torus", I used the array modifier to duplicate the mesh without having to actually CTRL+C and V each mesh. This also helps my computer to render faster since it's not an exisiting duplicates.

I animated the camera to track forward so fast that it mimics the illusion of spirals.

RESPONSE

Refering to this week's theme about play and time, I wanted to mimic the feeling of going through a worm hole of time and creating a tension of waiting for what's in the other side. Turns out the other side is just a digital neon clock telling you what time it is. The play side of this experiment is creating a comedic value.
