Time

Although Time has various kinds, this week we majorly explored looped time. Looped time is powerful that can defeat time, and it is a creative aesthetic device in animation, presentation, etc.

Watch the Looped Maze here.

Method:

This week I use the handy phone camera to take photos of my daily routine from my part-time workplace to home. A workout app was also recording my GPS location while I was shifting between metros. This procedure lasted around 1 hour and 10 minutes, which is my single trip spend. Afterward, I mapped those photos and videos on PowerPoint and composed them as a looped animation. Some magic aftereffects were added at the end of this trial.

Context:

On one hand, the article: IT IS A PLEASURE TO SEE YOU AGAIN (kabk.github.io) dug into delightful elements of looped time: 'We as humans do enjoy repetition in several cases. It makes things clear and makes us feel safe. When you see something again you feel reassured, you recognize it as familiar, there is no surprise, you know what to expect.' On the other hand, While I applied this thought to my commute test, a positive atmosphere has been released from an unfamiliar way while I repeated the commute over and over again. IT IS A PLEASURE TO SEE YOU AGAIN (kabk.github.io) On the other hand, While I applied this thought on my commute test, a positive atmosphere has been released from an unfamiliar way while I repeated the commute over and over again. IT IS A PLEASURE TO SEE YOU AGAIN (kabk.github.io) also revealed that ‘loops are so powerful that they can transform something mundane or average into something completely different.’

Reflection:

Through this experiment, the common boring sense of repeating daily life was removed. I realized that this cycle of time is crucial for adults: stable working hours guarantee a stable income. Similarly, stable study time guarantees academic success.
