Theme: Play & Place

Method:

For the weekly theme Play & Place, I made a two-dimensional animation using Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. The scene of the animation is the skyline of the city, which is regarded as a game scene. The buildings with different heights suddenly inspire me. “What if a building falls from the sky, and can other buildings of the same height be eliminated? Just like in Tetris.

Context:

First of all, my inspiration came from Tetris. When we play this game, we move, rotate and place the various blocks automatically output by the game, so that they are arranged into a complete line or lines, getting a point. Although it is a age-old game, I still think it is very classic, there are many things worth learning.

Response:

The impact of this week's homework on me is that I try to observe things, not only focusing on the color or some surface elements, but also exploring their inner playfulness. This was originally a game development idea. However, I'm still studying game design, and not able to complete this project within a week, but I'm very interested in making this game in the future.
