Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

The topic of this week is on the MOVEMENT.

In response to this theme, I worked on one of the premises of mine: -A cat can control the length of day and night by controlling the size of its pupils.
Under normal circumstances, cats can adapt to changes in light through pupil scaling; when the light is dark, the pupil will dilate, and when the light is bright, the pupil will shrink. Regarding this characteristic of cats, I created a version of the story about the transformation of day and night - the cat's pupils dilate, the moon will appear, and the cat's pupils shrink, the sun will appear. You can control day and night through the change of the cat's pupil. After the cat's pupil dilates, it will jump out of the picture and eat the sun in one bite. Then its tail will turn into the moon and stay in the picture. The world turns into night. When the cat's pupils shrink, its tail will retract and then spit out the sun. The world becomes day again.

I also want to express through this storyboard that the canvas is no longer a frame that constrains the animation, but a platform to jump out of.

In the Pixar Short Films -La Luna (2011), the change in the cloudiness of the moon is changed by the way people clean the moon. The two usual actions, cleaning and the change of the moon's cloudiness, were originally unconnected. But in this animation, they are linked together by the author and produce a very interesting effect. The strange behavior of the main character at the beginning becomes more justifiable.

Feedback And Revised Work

After consulting with Kate, she raised some questions about my expression of content. Because my original story didn't explain why a cat's dilated pupil had anything to do with her going to eat the sun. There is a problem in the connection of the two plots. So the story was tweaked to read: The cat wants to sleep in, and the strong sun annoys her. So she jumped up and ate the sun. The world was dark again, and she slept contentedly.
