Animation, games and interactivity - Studio 1 Related Work Post Week 4

This week, I have researched about the following related works to my field of practice. As I am interested in animation as well as game design, I wanted to explore and research both the fields of work. Here is what I researched this week:

I. HERE'S THE PLAN (2017)

1. Here's the plan was made in Chile, 2017 and it is an animated short film using CGI (Computer Generated Imagery). This movie was written and directed by Fernanda Frick.

2. This is a very cute and romantic short movie, about 18 minutes in length. It portrays the married life of a couple, a dog and a cat. The whole movie is about their dreams, passions and the need to protect their marriage. They face many problems in their married life and decide to give up upon each other but eventually, they are able to combat all the problems of their life and save their love for each other.

3. Technically, it is a wonderful work done with 3d animation. There characters are beautifully animated, the scene setups are well thought upon. The environment and the music is also made to change depending on the situation. Overall, the technical work combined with the conceptual work is able to establish an engagement with the viewer.

II. PUBG (Player Unknown’s Battle Grounds)

I researched about PUBG this week as It is one of the most famous games being played worldwide during the recent times.

1. PUBG is an online multiplayer battle game. This game has been released and developed by PUBG corporation. This game is mostly played on mobile phones and can be played on the desktop as well.

2. This game Is a very long one. 100 players land once into the game, drop down to various places, scatter themselves, collect weapons to kill others and first aid to protect themselves if someone tries to attack. This game is basically a battleground where a person can be attacked at any time. One can play solo, duo or squad in this online game. If one chooses to play solo, the other players online also play solo, if the player plays a duo match, the other players also play in a duo form and if the player brings his squad along, then other players also attack and play in teams of 4. This is an intense game. Normally, 1 round of this game can be played upto half an hour or even 45 minute. The game ends with one person being alive at the end in the game of 100 people who landed there initially (up to 2 players in the end in case of duo and 4 players in the end in the case of squad

3. This award-winning game has an interesting game design. It has 3-4 huge gameplay sets available for the user to select and play. Each gameplay set has a different environment and location. The game was developed by Brendan Greene. The first map to be released was Erangel which shows a mountain terrain. The game is developed with Unreal Engine. A player can choose the quality of the game he wishes to play depending on what platform he is playing the game on. Ther are three modes available i.e low, medium and high.

III. Grand Theft Auto

1. Grand Theft Auto is a game series published by Rockstar Games. This series has an action-adventure genre and was designed, created and developed by Davis Jones and Mike Dailly. This game was first released in the year 1997 for playing on personal computers. GTA 2 was released in the year 1999, followed by GTA : San Andreas in the year 2004 and GTA 4 in the year 2008. The latest release till date has been GTA 5 released in the year 2013.

2. This Game did not use much high quality graphics or high end renderings until late. As it was released in 1997 with the sole purpose of entertainment and was meant to be played on personal computers. As technology evolved, this game started to be played on gaming computers, laptops and even game consoles.

3. The main concept of this game is a single player going out, having many missions to clear at once, killing people, looting money and it goes on. In one game, a player has to clear multiple missions given to him by his boss
