In this week, we focused on how to use the dialogues to display about the internal aspects of character , and also show the motivation and relationships. Our group picked sentence around Koala baby from the WIKI premises and designed a simple conversation between three people.

Person 1: I told you before...it doesn't work...come from the other side.

Person 3 after entering: what are you talking about

Person 2: "you will never understand what we are talking about"

Person 1 to person person 3: "Here, it is none of your business.”

Finish the cigarette, have been given the job to open the shop. Need to rush

Person 2 to 3: I never realised koala babies scream like human babies

Person 3 to 2: what the hell were you guys really talking about.

In that foundation, I chose to do a scenario of two people who are arguing in the balcony. One is prefer to be more emotional and another one looks like more unconcerned. And to identify them, the emotional one used warm color and another one used cold color. And then I create a storyboard to show the whole conversation step by step.

This story expression way got inspiration from the character design Joy and Sadness from Inside Out (Peter 2015). They use exaggerated behaviors to show the character’s internal aspects.

Software I used: Procreate.
