Day 2- Tomorrow's set to be proper sketch and concept day after peer feedback!
Summary within the driving categories:
Rationale:
- Overall currently, I'm driven towards expanding my knowledge within animation, particularly within a game design context.
- With the work I've done today, I wanted to solidify the context of the character itself before I reach the final design, so I'm able to utilise elements that could help improve the character's impact.
Context:
- I've outlined similar games within day 1's post, and within todays post, of pre existing games with themes and scope on a similar level that I'd like to accomplish. Though, of course, they are finished games, while I'm only at this stage completing a design of a singular character.
Methods:
- Mainly, I'm utilising the knowledge in character design that I've already gained through my bachelor degree course. Main production of concepts will be done through Procreate, and on paper when necessary.
- Proceeding into the next outcome, I'll move into more unfamiliar software; Unity. I'm very excited to learn the software though.
Outcome:
In order to succeed I'll have to soon solidify the following;
- The setting (which I mainly did today, and will finalise hopefully tomorrow with feedback).
- Scope general ideas I like for the character's design, like if they're human, animal, or anywhere along those lines.
- I'll need to start researching more into Unity before jumping straight into the software. I'm worried if I don't I might be overwhelmed by the new software.
