RATIONALE –
- Today I worked on the walking animation cycle, and after a day working and refining the timing and keyframes, I managed to complete a simple walk.
- I'm not overly happy with the quality of this animation, I feel I could do a lot better. But given the time of this project, and the other goals I wish to complete, I'll move on and possibly revisit if I have time in the future.
CONTEXT –
- Plenty of artists, animators included, sometimes aren't going to enjoy their work. With the context of this assignment, and the limited time I have, it's important that I keep things into perspective.
METHODS –
- Working with Spine itself has been hard to get used to, and it's not like it's a bad software, I'm just still not quite comfortable with tweened animation.
- In the future, I'd much rather do the animations frame by frame. This quicker animation production though helps me create temporary assets I can use to create this Unity test!
OUTCOMES –
- With 2 of the 4 animations I had planned done, I'll continue progress and hopefully move onto this Unity asset by Saturday!
- In the future, if I end up persuing this assignment within Studio 1 of the Master's course, I can always use this work as a basic test. Even if I'm unhappy with elements, the overall development and experiments will help a lot!
Overall, not much has changed since yesterday. Hopefully I can make the jump and crouch animation look a lot nicer!
