    After Effects? ProCreate
    (Raghad)
  • Talk to Dan/Mike/Rachael re camera exchange
  • Follow up sounds from work archive.

RATIONALE
A) I need easy recourse to a quick method of putting thumbnails together, still. Storyboard Pro not yet available to RMIT students.
B) Now focusing on Dairy as my intention for Folio 2.
C) Need to discover best method for small quick animates using small ideas in prep for hand drawn components of Dairy. Timing and sounds to come later. Program? I did not deal with this issue in Studio 1.

CONTEXT
B) Make explicit connections to these through-out the day. Add as needed from previous.

METHODS
A) How – PSD tutorial/Storyboard Pro
B) Keep using thumbnails/filming/found objects/writing to fill out Diary Storyboard

OUTCOME
A) Knowledge that can be called upon

SUMMARY

Home Animatic
Spent 9 hours creating animatic in psd. Is this too long? The program is awkward for timing and mistakes are hard to go back and fix. KEY LEARNINGS; need a more thorough storyboard and ise key frames to work out proportions. Going back to resize is time consuming. Better flow aciaened when I set up a character made of parts and eventually created a sheet of key poses. Could this be done earlier after more thorough storyboarding. Not sure that psd is a quick solution but needs to be tested against another progam. TVPaint? As the animatic evolved I could see how Harmony could be used.  However it is quite easy to see which parts of the sequence need expanding.

Diary not touched nor further review of the context.

5/07/2020 EARLY MORNING REFLECTION.
HOME - Making a more detailed storyboard enabled me to see overall problems and experiment with fixes but I would not have foreseen the problems that occurred – and were solvable - without doing the animatic (eg. the door having an extra bar). At this stage the new solution (hammer and nails) is a possible solution to the building climax of frustration but it throws out the ending solution (makes a double ending). Not sure if I proceed with an animatic using the new solution or keep looking for another solution  - eg. Don’t use it at all. I think only viewing the footage will tell me if it works (community feedback).
> Is the re-purposing of the drawn elements enough in itself to hold a double ending?
> Does it take away the surprise or are we waiting to see what will come out of the parts anyway – as set up by sticky tape etc.
> The reaching out body did not work as the character morphs too much, jumping out of established character.
>   Are two attempts enough anyway?
> Why has Home gotten so much traction when it is an aside. I often find it easier to work on the thing that doesn’t matter so much. Make the Diary not matter. It is funny so that might be a sustaining principle. It has built up in my head but it needs to get out and be TESTED.
