For Week 9, I was mostly worked on creating a blendshape based facial rig in Maya. I built this blendshape setup to export it to Unity and check how it works when first imported in and what do I need to set up for it to work properly. After I created the blendshape for the face, I created some basic animations for it. I baked the animations to the joints and exported the rig and the model to Unity. Then, I imported the ‘. fbx’ file to Unity and started writing the script to set it up properly, which I’ll be completing in Week 10.


I have been looking at and trying out different tools that other tools developers have developed for Maya in Python. I have been checking how they write their script, how are they designing their UIs for those tools, and what makes it user friendly. I also have been looking for other resources that directly link to my Folio 2 project.


Moving on to Week 10, I need to continue looking for resources online related to my project. I also need to keep checking out tools created by industry professionals in Maya, which may or may not be related to what I am working on, to check their scripting habits. I still need to try and stop looking at the bigger things and start working through smaller ideas first.
