Advanced Skeleton:

Advanced Skeleton is an auto-rigging tool developed for Maya. This tool helps riggers to quickly creates character, prop and creature rigs for animation and game projects for both production and personal use. This tool is created for 3D riggers and non-riggers, to help them create fast rigs and skins. The focus of the tool is to help riggers avoid the repetition of starting things from scratch every time and help non-riggers create a production-ready rig without having detailed knowledge about rigging. You can do a lot of things inside this tool, from creating basic rigs to more advanced stuff and is suitable for those who are not familiar with rigging and for those who are expert riggers. This tool also has basic animations that can be used to check out the deformations of the 3D model. This tool is used by animation and VFX studios to speed up the rigging creation process so that they can move forward through their pipeline quicker.

Artv1:

Artv1 is an animation and rigging toolkit developed for Unreal Engine and Autodesk Maya. This tool helps the riggers to create game ready rigs for humanoid characters in Maya and provides the animators with everything they need to animate that character. The main difference between the above tool and this toolkit is that this toolkit is based on exporting the rigs and animations to Unreal Engine without any hassle, whereas in the above tool you would need to manually fix everything and make it export-ready. This tool helps create a flawless transfer of rigs, animations, and models from Maya to Unreal Engine and vice-versa.

Marvel’s Spider-Man:

I am choosing a well-know game from 2018 as my third related work summary. It is an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. For this summary, I mostly want to focus on the main game mechanics. The main game mechanic of this game is swinging, and they have done an amazing job to keep it interesting. They have added little things like animations and stunts to not make the almost 20-hour game boring. They have other mechanics in the game to spice up the game, but you spend most of the time swinging around NYC and that never gets boring. This game shows that just having one main mechanic in the game can make the game interesting and fun to play, which I think is a really important thing to consider for indie projects.
