Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity
  1. Rational/Intention

For this studio, I am planning to individually do a story-based situation puzzle, point and click RPG game. This game is inspired by the board game, Situation puzzle, there is a ending conclusion, and the player need to ask question to identify trails. And finally to reverse think the whole story. Based on that, in this game, the player is asked to enter key words or find the key stuff to trigger the entire story. As I don’t have much painting skills, this game is probably designed with pixel painting with some 2D painting. The game will start with a old-fashioned television in the house, and the scope of activity by players may also limited in the house.

Due to the different culture background, I may more prefer to build this game based on a 80s-90s background in Asia. This game will more focused on the interactivity and storytelling with players, the system and mechanism may be quite simple. I will pay more attention on the aesthetics part such as sound, painting and the environment shaping and I hope to make players have a immersive experiences.

  1. Context Field

The reason why I chose to do this since I was a fan of Kairosoft game. The kind of pixel game style is quite attractive to me and I also like to play the situation puzzle game. In the foundation of that, I try to put them together.

The game below can be considered as a example:

System & Mechanism:

Untitled Goose Game(2019)

Devotion(2019)

Aesthetics style:

Kingdom: New lands(2016)

The Witch’s House(2012)

  1. Methods:Iterative loops and reflection
  • Week 1: Briefly discuss about the aesthetics style like main color tone, and the story background, character detail, etc. Make a brief plan about the whole game. And doing the RPG Maker tutorial at the same time.
  • Week 2: To focus on the , all painting stuff should be finished before the weekend. To think about the UI design and background music. To start work at RPG Marker.
  • Week 3: Same as week 2, deeply design about the actual game part.
  • Week 4:To complete the aesthetics part such as sound effect, and to feel the game as a player.
  • Week 5: Test the game and doing the final design work.
  • Week 6: To fix bugs and issue, prepare to present, and based on the feedback to keep develop.
