Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity
Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

I spent the first half of the day discussing the project with my peers and publishing my outcomes so far on the SnapChat server for verification.

I then researched some related works and case studies carried out for the acedemic support of my inquiry.  I came across some interesting studies and articles that will help me further my understanding of what I'm trying to convey through my work.

In the second half of the day, I consulted Chris Barker and got him upto speed with my progress so far. I recieved positive feedback for the most part and interesting insights. I was told to consider an additional technical element. To make the screen opaque until a face is detected so that it can come across as a more personalized experience for the user.

It made sense to me and I started looking into the code to see what kind of parameters will be necessary to carryout this thing because snapchat works on constant visual data collection and has no support for fade-ins.

I spend most of the remaining day trying to figure out how this would work, having no idea of programming played its part in making simple things difficult. I broke one of my files and still couldn't get the fade in working. Sahaj also came in to lend a hand but I feel this will take some time to get done.

I do feel I'm onto something though, this might take better part of this week for me to get right but all in all I'm in a good position "Barker C. 2019". Hopefully by the end of this workshop, I will have this project as a portable experience and I can focus on the exhibition aspect of this during my studio as I carry out my research.

Slow day, but good day.
