Theme:

In response of play and object, I made a Tangram by several foods

Context:
generally, food will not be related with art or game. But sometimes they can also have wonderful connection. I like to observe the behavior of babies, and there is one phenomenon that has left a deep impression on me. Many babies will enjoy playing with their food at mealtime (although this behavior is usually discouraged by their parents). This behavior is usually the destruction of the food, and occasionally it is accompanied by the reorganization of the food. Is this a unique way for them to explore the world?
From this, I made a tangram made of food. Tangram is an ancient toy that originated in China, and many imagery can be developed using seven simple geometric pieces.
The Swiss-German artist Dieter Roth is renowned for using food as a medium. In 1970, He created a piece named Staple Cheese (A Race), a pun for steeplechase, which depicted 37 suitcases filled with cheese displayed on the floor at the Eugenia Butler Museum, in Los Angeles. Over time, the cheese began to rot and attracted swarms of flies.(https://eastofborneo.org/archives/dieter-roth-staple-cheese-a-race-1970/)
His work made me think about the meaning behind food, in fact food as a necessity for human existence, whether it is a medium or a theme, there are so many things it can express and metaphor

Method:
Find my ingredients from the fridge
Making my tangram in the kitchen
Use tangrams to create different shapes
record the production process
Edit the video

Reflection:
The process of making tangrams with food was a joy for me until I burnt the toast haha.
And I have a new idea - to record the process of 'destroying' and 'rebuilding' food, which I believe is closer to the original demand to 'play' of human than any game
