context:

In response to the theme of this issue, I chose the keywords outdoor and material. It feels good to have clouds floating across the sky and wind blowing when you are relaxing outdoors.  But now people can’t go out. If you want to enjoy the feeling of being outdoors, you need to build an environment indoors to simulate the outdoors. This is a video that simulates outdoor indoors through object materials.

Method:

I created it with reference to the background curtain + object decoration method used in the stage performance. I chose the Jeep style scene, because this style is very fresh and has a spring feeling, in line with people's imagination of the outdoors. After making the grove, modify the normal to a custom mode, so that the model looks like watercolor. Then add sunlight and point light

Response:

I think that outdoor places have the characteristics of distance and openness. If you want to simulate this effect, you need to consider the direct perspective of the object and the direction of the light, because outdoor scenes are all sunlight and rarely light sources. But in the forest, there can be point light sources that penetrate between the leaves and branches. And through the change of light source position to achieve the effect of sky cloud movement. The purpose of this scene is to confuse the audience with the fake and real, so that the player can feel that they are outdoors while they are indoors.
