Coldplay have released an interactive video of “Ink” from their latest album Ghost Stories. The Blind-directed video prompts you to choose and direct the course of your journey as you follow a man traveling around the world to find his lost love. There are more than 300 possible outcomes. The simple animated characters follow through with your choices of what objects to pick up and what paths to take, givng the viewer control of how the story will end. 

Interactive video (also known as "IV") is a type of digital video that supports user interaction. These videos play like regular video files, but include clickable areas, or "hotspots," that perform an action when you click on them. 

Compare to traditional video, users aside from limited functions in an linear way, there isn't much users can do to interact with these videos. An interactive video, gives the viewer the ability to interact with the video content itself through a variety of tools. Users can click, drag, scroll, hover, gesture and complete other digital actions to interact with the video’s content, similar to the way they’d interact with web content. 

Interactive video is engaging and entertaining for the audience. Meanwhile, it let the users be part of the story. Perhaps one of the greatest values of video is its ability to tell a strong story. Interactive video takes storytelling to new heights, letting the audience become characters in the story who make decisions on how the plot unfolds.

Response : 

More engaging and memorable. When a user is watching a linear video, it can be easy to get distracted. Interactive video makes viewing active instead of passive, creating a game-like experience that grabs and keeps a user’s attention. It turns out the sheer ability to engage with content in an interactive video makes a user more likely to remember the plot.
