Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

Context:

  • For force, I think it is almost everywhere. It is actually very simple to express the existence of force in some form. But if you want to combine play and force to show it, it's really difficult. At first I wanted to express with paintings, but it highlights the possibility of play is relatively low. So I'm still going to make it with a game engine later. Mainly I want to express the uncontrollability of that kind of force, and then watch the interestingness of all kinds of collisions.

Method:

  • I used Unity to create a large funnel-shaped space. Then put more than 200 balls in that space, and gave them a certain amount of elasticity. Then let them collide with each other in that space. And each ball has its own trailing trajectory. Then observe the interest of the collision between them.

Response:

  • I showed it to my friend, and he told me a point of view that I also agree with. He said that watching this kind of irregular beating is easy for people to immerse in. The eyes want to observe the beating of each ball, and then there is always a little regret when the last ball is about to end.

Reflection:

  • This production gave me a lot of feelings. The randomness of power is far more interesting than I thought. Not only that, when observing the beating between each ball, it feels like they are dancing. My eyeballs were deeply attracted by them. The whole process starts from neatly entering the arena, then starting their dance party, and then every ball falls asleep one after another when the night falls. The whole observation process gave me this wonderful feeling.
