CPS WEEK 2: Tinkering

In response to the theme of tinkering, I made a drawing of animals mix with human parts by using Photoshop. 

The original idea was inspired by the work of the Korean artist Egene Koo.  Her series, Trivial Myth, is a combination of animals and human bodies. The rich combinations, flowing lines, and delicate texture of her oil paintings all contribute to her distinct style. The numerous fascinating variations bring great creativity of excitement to the work. (Egene Koo http://www.egenekoo.com) With this in mind, I randomized three animals online and combined them as this week’s work.

Camilla Perkins is an illustrator. People, flora, and fauna provide her with inspiration, which she improves with a little creativity. Her works produced brightly coloured, heavily patterned and unique images with a slightly abstract yet harmonious style. (Camilla Perkins http://www.camillaperkins.com/about) Patrick Kyle is another illustrator of a similar painting style. Slightly abstract paintings containing emotion and personal style. (Patrick Kyle https://www.patrickkyle.com/about) They gave me a lot of ideas. I tried to try a similar style in a short amount of time, and while the results weren't that great, it still was a great learning experience.
